Job Descriptions

President: The President provides direction for the organization, serves as the representative of the organization to the community and national governing bodies, and is ultimately responsible for the operations of the organization. The President interacts with Manchester Township officials and ensures that there is a good working relationship with the Township. The President presides over the meetings, assumes responsibility for communication with the organization’s participants, the media, and community members, and ensures that the organization is complying with all organization policies.

Vice President: The Vice President presides in the absence of the President, works with other officers and committee members, is an ex-officio member of all committees, and carries out such duties and assignments as may be delegated by the President.  

Secretary: The Secretary maintains a list of board member information, records the minutes of the board meetings, distributes notices of meetings and other organization information to the board members, and maintains organization records.

Treasurer: The Treasurer is responsible for all tasks related to finances of the organization, including preparing the budget, keeping financial records, reporting on the status of funds, and distributing funds as approved by the other board members.

MTAA Baseball Commissioner: The MTAA Baseball Commissioner reports to the MTAA board and is a member of the executive committee.  The Baseball Commissioner provides administrative oversight over all baseball teams under the MTAA banner.  The Baseball Commissioner attends league meetings (York County Baseball, Cal-Ripken, etc.) as a representative for MTAA and reports on these meetings to the MTAA board during monthly meetings. The Commissioner will select and preside over the MTAA Baseball Team Selection Committee.  The Baseball commissioner ensures that teams are selected per MTAA guidelines.

Assistant Baseball Commissioner: The Assistant Baseball Commissioner will act as Commissioner in the absence of the Commissioner and assist in any duties per the discretion of the Commissioner. The Assistant Commissioner will assist in the Spring season and run the Fall Baseball season.

MTAA Softball Commissioner: The MTAA Softball Commissioner reports to the MTAA board and is a member of the executive committee.  The Softball Commissioner provides administrative oversight over all softball teams under the MTAA banner.  The Softball Commissioner attends league meetings (South Central PA Softball, Babe Ruth, etc.) as a representative for MTAA and reports on these meetings to the MTAA board during monthly meetings. The Commissioner will select and preside over the MTAA Softball Team Selection Committee.  The softball commissioner ensures that teams are selected per MTAA guidelines.

Assistant Softball Commissioner: The Assistant Softball Commissioner will act as Commissioner in the absence of the Commissioner and assist in any duties per the discretion of the Commissioner. The Assistant Commissioner will assist in the Spring season and run the Fall Softball season.

Safety Officer: The Safety Officer of MTAA Baseball/Softball is mainly responsible for the development and implementation of the safety program. The Safety Officer is the link between the Board of
Directors of MTAA Baseball/Softball and its managers, coaches, umpires, players, spectators, and any other third parties on the complex in regards to safety matters, rules and regulations.

Director of Managers Committee: The Director of the Managers Committee shall interview and investigate prospective general managers and recommend general managers to the Baseball and Softball Commissioners for approval.  During the playing season information will be pushed out to the general managers who in turn pass along to their respective levels. The Director will help with maintaining the schedule for field usage with the support of the Baseball and Softball Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners.  

 

Director of Coaches Development: The Director of Coaches Development ensures that the young athletes in MTAA receive the best coaching possible by ensuring that coaches are trained and committed to being excellent coaches. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating coaches training. This person also oversees the coach evaluation and feedback process.

Equipment Manager: The Equipment Manager oversees the purchase and distribution of all equipment for the organization. The inventory of the equipment, the equipment distribution to the teams, the collection of equipment following the season, the compliance with all equipment safety standards, and the purchase of all new equipment is the responsibility of the Equipment Manager.

Fundraising Manager: The Fundraising Manager works with the Treasurer to create a plan to meet the financial needs of the organization. The Fundraising Manager plans and executes fundraisers, recruits parents and other volunteers to assist in the process, and publicizes all fundraisers to the organization and community.

Communications Director: The Communications Director is responsible for distributing all organization information to the participants and community. The Communications Director is responsible for maintaining the website and any other media outlets of the organization. The Communications Director manages the rosters, schedule, scores, and news and ensures that this information is being provided to participants of the organization.

Uniform Manager: The Uniform Manager is responsible for the purchasing and distribution of all player and coaches uniforms. The Uniform Manager works with vendors to obtain competitive pricing and timely distribution of uniforms for the Spring and Fall seasons. The Uniform Manager also provides Spirit Wear for purchase.

Tournament Director: The Tournament Director is responsible for scheduling all MTAA sponsored Tournaments and supervising volunteers during the Tournament weekend.
